Overseer Dr. Curtis Anthony Rodgers at the age of 16 was licensed by his father in 1973 and was ordained by Bishop J.O. Mason in 1974. He served in all areas of the church from his youth. He has served in Sunday School as a member, teacher, secretary, district & state minister of music, district & State Sunday School Superintendent, local YPWW President, Pastor's Aide President. He organized the Gospel Unlimited College Ministry at the University of Chicago, where many were saved and blessed. He was a talk show host for channel 5 NBC "Wrap it Up," and was nominated for an Emmy Award at the age of 17. He served and is serving on several boards of directors in the community. He served as the district superintendent of two districts: I.L. Roberts District and Chetwyn Rodgers Memorial District. He Pastored three churches: Resurrection COGIC in Kewanee, Illinois; Cornerstone COGIC in Rockford, Illinois; and presently Chetwyn Rodgers Faith Memorial COGIC in Chicago, Illinois. He has served as a District Evangelist, Jurisdictional and National Adjutant and presently serves as Adjutant Overseer International under several Presiding Bishops: Presiding Bishop J. O. Patterson; Presiding Bishop L. H. Ford; Presiding Bishop Chandler D. Owens; Presiding Bishop Gilbert E. Patterson, Jr.; & currently Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake. He has directed the COGIC National S.E.E.D. and Communion Project. He served as Assistant State Secretary and Finance Secretary, Jurisdictional Sunday School Superintendent and Administrative Assistant appointed by Bishop Cody V. Marshall. He has built a $3 Million community organization called the Chetwyn Rodgers Drive Development Center (CRDDC), whose purpose is to empower people to be self-sufficient and thereby revitalize communities, as well as providing training, technology, social services and life services for seniors, adults, children and families. He has help build Christian Actions Ministries (CAM) an $11 Million facility that has 225 beds, full kitchen, daycare, medical facility, dental facility, activity center, and conference rooms. He is responsible for the development of 151 medical clients in the Chicagoland area through the Cabrini Medicare Hospital systems. He has developed the West Garfield Infant Mortality Programs. He also served on the Executive Board on the Cook County Chaplaincy which is a bootcamp that gives a second chance to first time offenders. He has developed churches and inspired many to start churches: Word of God Ministries COGIC, Bristol, TN - Pastor Kelly Pete; Faith Family Fellowship, Hazel Crest, IL - Pastor Mack Mason; New Philadelphia COGIC, Chicago, IL - Pastor Bobby Butts; Christ New Hop COGIC, Chicago, IL - Pastor Kenneth Bray, Sr.
Pastor Curtis A. Rodgers is the author of "The New Entrepreneurs" teaching people how to start businesses using bible principles. Church Doctrine Membership book Book and Guide; and has produced three music albums: Higher Power; His Hand, and Be Faithful. He has developed a training program for the Cook County Sheriff's Department for first time offenders.
Pastor Curtis A. Rodgers attended the University of Illinois as well as Roosevelt University where he received a B.A. in Business Administration in addition to an Honorary Doctorate from Trinity Seminary in California. He taught graduate level classes at the University of Illinois in Communications, developed the Mid-Austin Chamber of Commerce (MACC), helped create over 300 new businesses, over 1000 jobs & served over 25,000 residents through innovative technology and life services. Dr. Rodgers is the son of Pastor, Dr. Chetwyn & Mary Rodgers. He is married to Missionary Daphine Rodgers, father of four sons: Curtis II, Justin, Christian and Luke, one Daughter-in-law Natalie; five brothers & two sisters, along with four grandchildren.
